STEPHANIE RUDD IN LOS ANGELES

 Stephanie Rudd photography

We are thrilled to host new photography by Stephanie Rudd in the Los Angeles gallery space as our Summer 2025 solo exhibition.

Stephanie Rudd’s artistic career has been far from linear, following a path that roams widely from New York to California, with the concepts of “place” and “home” remaining central to her work.

For Rudd, finding community at the quiet edge of place and time coincides with the development of her brand Pilgrimage, a term wholly encompassing her artistic process born on the road. In her travels, Rudd has found both solace and inspiration in the vast and empty desert landscape, from Joshua Tree to far West Texas. Rudd recently relocated from her hometown of Louisville, KY to Marfa, TX, where she has brought both her artistic and curatorial vision to life with the establishment of her brand, Pilgrimage.

In Road Home, Rudd has inverted the concept of threshold, mirroring the start of her journey westward by capturing images of the abandoned spaces where life once abided. Rudd’s work inspires questions about America’s future as much as its past. Allegories of perseverance, survival, and letting go weave through the windowless structures and quiet roads. The western landscape evokes feelings of nostalgia, but the liminal spaces Rudd has captured push beyond the traditional aesthetic of Americana. Photographed in February of 2025, the works in Road Home showcase the eye of a traveling artist who has perfected the act of just passing through, reflecting versions of ourselves most alone.
