Mary “Maud” Smyer is a fine art potter and psychotherapist living in Oakland, California. A Rhode Island School of Design graduate who has also studied at Penland School of Craft and Anderson Ranch Art Center, Smyer uses her graphic design background and love of “doodling” to inform her ceramics practice. Vibes of playfulness and pleasure, and the endless possibilities of mark making, are imbued in every MAUD CERAMICS piece.
