We are pleased to show new work by Los Angeles-based filmmaker and painter Patrick Picard in our Los Feliz gallery this summer! These sculptural new pieces mark a departure for Picard, emerging from the 2D constraints of the painted canvas towards a constructed 3D landscape, evocative of Brutalist architecture and elements of Constructivist design. When creating this series, Picard was inspired by the unassuming materiality of scrap MDF, Neutrogena soap bars, and the Gonzalo Fonseca-designed concrete playgrounds of his youth.
Thursday, June 20th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
Light refreshments will be provided.
