NOTES FROM THE ROAD // COUTURE 2018
Last week Lauren and I hit the Las Vegas strip to show off the Lauren Wolf Jewelry line at Couture, an industry trade show that features established and up-and-coming fine jewelry designers. It was our second time at the show and a great success! We traveled with fellow designer Rebecca Overmann, and had a chance to catch up with other ESQUELETO designers also exhibiting at the show, like Wing Yau of Wwake, Anthony Lent, Polly Wales, Todd Pownell, and more.
We spent the weeks leading up to the show in our studio, making lots of new one of a kind rings and necklaces - you'll see some of those hitting the website very soon - and were glad to see a warm reception for the new styles. Lauren's Star Ring was even nominated as a finalist for the Couture Design Awards in the Bridal category!
Our Oakland shop manager Sha-Ron joined us on Saturday to do a little shopping with other ESQUELETO artists, so expect some new pieces from Celine D'Aoust, Wwake, Jennie Kwon and more in the Oakland shop very soon. And I spent Monday morning at the JCK show visiting our diamond dealers, and brought back some new goodies for a fresh batch of rings.
It wasn't all work of course - we hit the pool whenever possible, and even spent a few dollars in the Wynn casino, where the show was held. We also took the Anthony Lent crew to dinner at the Peppermill, a classic Vegas diner on the Strip, where we chatted about Anthony's beginnings as a jeweler in Germany, and the new ideas he has in store today.
It's always so wonderful to connect with our family of designers, jewelers and shop owners, see the new work from our artists and catch up over a cocktail. We can't wait to return next year!
