ROMY VARGAS | A LESSON IN PATIENCE
Romy Vargas is a Los Angeles born artist based in San Francisco. She studied architecture at City College of San Francisco, where she adopted her digital design techniques including the use of engineering tools to create graphic, geometric watercolor paintings.
Her series, “A Lesson in Patience” was conceived from an intense yearning for order and harmony within an impatient, chaotic environment. The artist's process is deeply rooted in the iterative practice of architectural design and is scaled to invoke the intensity of an organized state of consciousness. The series' congruent linework was created in a meditative state with thoughtful attention, to establish a motif that combines acute precision and balance with the organic imperfection of human hands.
